MOVFSA NASCAR CUP

Rules 2011

New rules and wording changes are highlighted in blue.

The new Nascar Scoring format will be used for league scoring and RaceScore will be the official management software for the MOVFSA.

1)  Entry:

    1. Turn in one driver per race one hour prior to the TV start time of each Nextel Cup Race, detailed on Schedule.

    1. Each driver may only be selected two times in the first 26 races and only once in the last 10 races of the year.  If a driver is only selected once in the first 26 races he can only be used once in the chase.

    1. If a driver is not entered by the start of the race or a driver is selected that is not in the race or has already been selected for the max allowed entries, then the last available driver you selected is carried forward.

    1. If a driver is not entered three times in a row or no available drivers are eligible to be carried forward, then zero points will be entered.

2)  Scoring:

    1. Each player accumulates the same Nascar Points that the entered driver is awarded from that race’s official results.   If a driver is penalized points from his overall point total, but no points are deducted from the official results of the race when the incident occurred, then no points are deducted and the player is awarded the same points as given in the official results.

    1. Once the standings are finalized after the first 26 races the field will be reset with everyone at zero plus the number of winning drivers picked multiplied by 10 points.  If you picked 5 winning drivers in the first 26 races you would start the chase with 50 points.  A winning driver is defined as the top driver entered in the league for a given race.

    1. Everyone will be eligible for the chase, but after the third race a certain number of players will be eliminated from the chase after each race until there are only 10 players left in the final race.  The number of players eliminated in each chase race will be determined by taking the number of players minus the 10 players in the final race and divide that by the 7 races.  When this number is rounded it will give the number of players dropped each race.  This will be published at the start of the chase.

3)  General Info:

    1. Each Player Entry must pay $50 for the Nascar Season.

    1. The overall standings and weekly race summaries will be updated after each race on the MOVFSA website.

    1. Each player may enter the weekly driver into Racescore on the MOVFSA website prior to the start of each race.  If the website is unavailable please email or call the MOVFSA Commish with your driver.

    1. A driver may be changed prior to the start of the race, the last driver entered based on timestamp of the entry is active.

    1. All stats posted on the MOVFSA website are final at the start of the next race.  Please contact the MOVFSA Commish with any errors and/or questions prior to the start of the next race.

    1. The total money will be split four ways; 30% for the first 26 races, 60% for the yearend, $50 for the player with the most first place picks, and the remainder for league maintenance.

    1. At the end of the year, the top three places for the first 26 races will be paid 85%, 10% and 5%, and the Final top three places will be paid 65%, 25%, and 10%.

    1. As a result of a tie in the final results, the winning percentages will be combined and split evenly among all players tied.  There are no tiebreakers.
