WE WILL CHANGE THE WAY YOU WATCH YOUR FAVORITE SPORT!

The Mid Ohio Valley Football League was created in 1989 by a small group of individuals who loved professional football.  Huddled around the bar in the old Michael’s Restaurant and Lounge, the League was sketched on paper modeling after a Cleveland Ohio League. The MOVFL started with ten franchises in 1989 with everything done by hand. The founding franchises were; Italiano’s, The Authority, 69er’s, RW, Grappa Guzzlers, Sambvca Survivors, Towne Square, Follow the Line, Marauders, and Tarantula’s.  In 1990 three rookie franchises were added, The Wise Buds, Hosers, and Latecomers.  Later that year, the first computerized scoring sheet was developed and the League Newsletter was born, later renamed "MOVFFL FLYER". Before the 1991 season started the league’s beloved home was closed down, starting a two year struggle for survival.  The League Commissioner’s hat was passed from Mike Ruscitto to Todd Handley by the 1991 season and after several years of rebuilding, the league had reached twenty franchises in 1993.  The MOVFL continued to feel the growing pains of filling twenty and twenty four franchises, with two separate draft nights.  This required space and forced the relocation of home base between several of Mid Ohio Valley’s finer establishments. The MOVFL  year round events.

The Summer Hummer golf outing, was started in 1994 as the kickoff event of each new year.

1995 was the first year to try a computer online service.

In 1996 a dedicated phone answering service was added.  The league also accepted its fantasy football name and became known as the MOVFFL as it settled in at Wedgy’s Pub, Classic Golf Club.

In 1997, The Locker Room became a popular Sunday Football location, as the league reached 30 teams with three individual draft nights.  The Classic MOVFFL Superbowl party was added as the closing season event.

1998 celebrated the MOVFFL’s Tenth Year with the kickoff of a nine team College Fantasy challenge for the diehard college enthusiasts, a new format for the Weekly Picksheet and a Lock of the Week Challenges.  We pushed the league further into the computer age with the addition of FFLM's Owner Assistant, giving all team owners access to all the numbers.

1999 saw the MOVFFL Website develop into being an integral part of the league.  The League Championship was changed so that each conference champion played in the first multiple team Superbowl.

During the 2000 Football offseason the MOVFFL was forced to change once again as the creation of a PGA format setup the transition from a football league to a fantasy sports association.  The Mid Ohio Valley Fantasy Sports Association was born, in short, MOVFSA.

2002 enhanced the internet format and secured www.MOVFSA.com.  Phone service became a thing of the past as the internet put sports information at your fingertips along with live scoring.  FFLM was upgraded to MyFantasyLeague.

The 2004 started with tragedy as our founder, Warren Kosicki "The Authority", passed away.  The name of the league trophy  was permanently dedicated in Warren's memory and from that point forward the league's highest honor will be known as the "Kosicki Cup".  2004 saw the expansion into the world of Motor Sports with the addition of a NASCAR format and the Commissioner helped start a charity league in association with Wally & Wimpys known as the the FUFL.

2006 the website has had over 32,000 hits, since it's creation in 2002.

Eighteen years and we still continue to find new ways to change the way people watch their favorite sport.

As always,
Todd Handley
